Rack- or Shelving-Supported Mezzanines consists of a second floor of decking built over the entire lower level of shelving. The second level consists of shelving, offices, or work areas, and allows relatively unlimited shelving placement. This is a cost-effective alternative to free-standing Multi-Level Systems.

Rack- or Shelving-Supported Mezzanines use inherent members to withstand loads placed on the upstairs level. Space below is limited to racks or shelving. This type of mezzanine simply transfers the floor level space to the upstairs area.
